Kirk Hamnett Unveils the Powerhouse Behind the Sound of the New Metallica Album

Recently, Metallica unveiled their latest album 'Hardwired...to Self-Destruct', which sees the band return to their incipient bay area thrash sound. Hard hitting riffs and crushing distortion give way to a more aggressive and forthright incarnation of Metallica than the world has seen in some time.

A key ingredient to this rambunctious concoction is KHDK's brand new Dark Blood pedal, which was exclusively co-designed by Kirk Hamnett himself. Dark Blood delivers a relentlessly angry amp-like distortion that features tube-like gain and a mid heavy dynamic.

Primarily designed to be implemented within the realms of metal and rock, Dark Blood is the ideal tool for high gain enthusiasts, palm mute kings and solo wizards. Combining solid state and mosfet technology , the pedal provides a treble booster to push your tonne further than ever before.

Featuring the aptly named doom control, the pedal is able to determine the specific levels of low end that is present in your tone. Able to move fluidly from tight bass to a long sustain, the pedal LO/HI gain toggle allows the pedal to flitter between brutal distortion to a solo ready tone at your desire.
