Kings Of Leon's V triumph
Kings Of Leon had "the best night ever" headlining the Virgin Media V Festival last night (22.08.10).
The 'Sex On Fire' rockers closed the UK festival's Staffordshire leg and as he celebrated, drummer Nathan Followill thanked fans for their response to the band's set.
He wrote on twitter: "Staffordshire ya'll were the s**t. Thanks 4 the best night ever. I'm officially on vacation, so the drinks are flowing like booze (sic)."
The band - completed by Nathan's brothers Jared and Caleb and cousin Matthew - played a career spanning set and debuted three new songs from forthcoming fifth album, 'Come Around Sundown', though Nathan added not all the band's newer fans realise which songs are new.
He said: "The other night we had played a new song, and then we played 'Trani' which is off our first album.
"I saw this girl look at another girl and say 'Is this another new song?'. So it's like a lot of them don't know the difference."
Meanwhile, Kasabian closed the main stage of the V Festival's other leg in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, with a triumphant final show of the summer, before they also taking time off ahead of releasing their fourth album.
Speaking from the stage, frontman Tom Meighan said: "Chelmsford I don't know what to say.
"We started this band in 1997 when we were babies, look at us now and it's all thanks to you!"Posted on 23 Aug 2010 10:00 to category : Music News
