Kelis admits to La Roux love
elis has revealed she would love to work with British group La Roux.
The 'Acapella' hitmaker - who is soon to begin a tour of the US alongside 'Heartbeat' singer Robyn - explained the electro-pop duo are one of her favourite UK bands and are people she may like to work with in the future.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I love La Roux. I think they're great."
However, one high-profile British musician the singer is not so aware of is Cheryl Cole.
Speaking at the Nordoff Robbins 02 Silver Clef Awards at London's Hilton on Park Lane Hotel on Friday (02.07.10), Kelis admitted she was oblivious to comparisons between her 'Li'l Star' track and the brunette beauty's 'Fight For This Love'.
She said: "To be totally honest, I didn't know about it until someone asked me recently so I haven't even heard it. I had no idea."
However, she claimed she wouldn't mind if Cheryl borrowed her sound, as artists are "supposed" to try out other musicians' styles.
Kelis explained: "As artists we're supposed to take from each other, so it's alright."
The chart-topping singer was attending the ceremony - which was hosted by Sharon Osbourne - to receive the Raymond Weil International Award.Posted on 6 Jul 2010 07:00 to category : Music News
