Kele Okereke's 'meltdown'
Kele Okereke admitted "having a meltdown" after making his debut solo album.
The Bloc Party frontman blamed his recent decision to shave his head came on stress after recording album 'The Boxer', and likened himself to Britney Spears - who famously shaved her head during her 2007 breakdown, which saw her hospitalised.
Kele told radio station Xfm: "I was doing a Britney. I'd had enough and I needed to start again - I was having a meltdown. I was attacking photographers with my umbrella and not being so good to myself."
The vocalist also said his electronic music rooted solo debut and comes from his experiences of DJing and listening to more dance music.
He added: "I think every album I've made is one I've wanted to make, this album represents the period last year where I was going out a lot more, DJing a lot more.
"This is what 'The Boxer' represents; but there are other records I'd like to make which are more balanced."
'The Boxer' is released on June 21.Posted on 5 May 2010 07:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
