Keith Urban and Brad Paisley to jam on their guitars

Keith Urban still rocks guitar while recovering from throat surgery.
Keith Urban is resting his voice
Country musician Keith Urban might be on strict orders to rest his voice from singing but that isn't stopping the star from doing what he does best.

Urban, who had throat surgery recently to remove a polyp on his vocal cord, is going to hammer it on his electric guitar instead of singing as he convalesces from the important operation.

He'll be jamming with his good pal Brad Paisley, the southern rock star known for his jovial style of entertainment.

"We're big guitar junkies, and we wanted to get together and maybe go through some amplifiers and go through some gear," Paisley told CTV.

"I told him let's do that. You don't have to talk. We'll get together. We'll play guitar, set up some amps, go through some tubes, try some stuff out and tweak. I'll do all the talking, which I am very capable of. He can just nod and grunt and do whatever he's allowed to do."

There's already talk of this jamming session being the possible start of a collaborative project between two of country music's best-known stars.

On the eve of having his operation, Urban, who is married to Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, reassured his worried fans that this was a routine procedure and that he'd be back to his best in no time.
