Katy Perry Snoops out Snoop
Katy Perry decided to collaborate with Snoop Dogg because of an internet search.
The pop singer - who is currently engaged to British funnyman Russell Brand - thought the rapper would be the best person to work with on her latest hit 'California Gurls' after researching musicians online.
Speaking to Canadian radio station Kiss 92.5 Ontario, she said: "I was Wikipedia-ing all the original west coast people and I was thinking to myself, who is still relevant, who is like the best, cherry on top for this, and it was obvious that it was Snoop."
The 'I Kissed A Girl' hitmaker wanted to create a single similar to Jay -Z and Alicia Keys' 'Empire State Of Mind' release and thought that the rapper would be the best person for it.
She continued: "He did 'Drop It Like It's Hot' a couple years ago, he did 'Sexual Seduction' - he's still Mr. Gin and Juice, I mean he doesn't age. He's the Doggfather."
Earlier this month Katy revealed she would be releasing album teasers to keep her audience interested. She said: "We will have another single out really soon. Before the album comes out, I think a lot people will be hearing a lot of different songs - it won't just be one song to tide you over until then because it seems a little far away for me actually. I mean the whole world could explode before then."Posted on 29 Jun 2010 07:00 to category : Music News
