Kasabian's homemade records
Kasabian seek a "homemade feel" on their records.
The band's guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno prefers to write and record his parts in his spare room at home, while the rest of the band choose to record in small studios to keep their DIY aesthetic alive.
Speaking of the band's upcoming fourth record Serge said: "I did it at home in my spare room, just as I always have. Ninety per cent of the recording for me was done in [my home county] Leicester [England]."
After Serge had laid the framework for the tracks, the band relocated to San Fancisco, where they put the rest of the material together.
He continued: "We were in a basement in San Francisco pulling it all together - we don't go for big studios, just basements and bedrooms for that homemade feel. So it was smelly, hair all over the place, getting involved, no time for f***ing about."
Despite the cramped recording process, the 'Club Foot' band feel the results will become a "classic" album.
Serge added to NME magazine: "It was all about making this incredible record, it was an obsession. We weren't there to have fun, it was our moment to make a classic album."Posted on 3 Jun 2011 08:30 to category : Music News
