Kasabian to close Isle of Wight Festival
Indie rockers Kasabian will be taking their electric guitars to next year's Isle of Wight Festival.
The band have been selected to close the 2011 bash, taking the top spot on the bill for Sunday June 12th.
Their appearance will follow performances from the likes of Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Pulp earlier in the weekend.
Festival promoter John Giddings said his team had aimed to book the "kings of rock 'n' roll" for the event's tenth anniversary celebrations and explained he thought the line-up so far showed they had managed this.
"Kasabian have reignited UK rock music and taken the mantle, long may they reign," he stated.
"It will be a riotous crowd-pleasing end to the weekend."
Band member Serge Pizzorno recently penned the score for forthcoming film London Boulevard, as well as providing vocals for some of the songs that feature on its soundtrack.
The movie is going to open on November 26th.
