Kaki King reveals her crisis of faith with guitar
In 2007, Kaki King, 32, was the only woman to be included in Rolling Stone magazine's The New Guitar Gods list, and the youngest.
At the time it sent shockwaves around the music industry and suddenly King was a household name that everyone wanted to know about.
"At some point, my whole identity was wrapped up in being this 'blah-blah-blah' guitar player, and I didn't understand what that meant anymore," King told the times free press.
"I didn't understand why I suddenly resented the guitar."
However, early this year she fell back in love with the instrument and is back at her best.
"In large part, [the tour] has been successful because ... I've found that, 'Wow, the six-string guitar. They really nailed it when they made that one.' It's been kind of a beautiful process," she told the news provider.
King, who was four when she first picked up a guitar, recently said she doesn't remember much about her early music lessons.
