Kaiser Chiefs to open Leeds Arena
The Yorkshire quintet will open the venue on September13th2013, marking the launch of the multi-purpose centre in the heart of Leeds, which will give concert goers in the area a place to see the biggest live acts.
Bassist SimonRixsaid: "Having played everywhere in Leeds from the Duchess (RIP) toEllandRoad, we are massively happy that Leeds has built somewhere new for us to play."
The band have been a staple on theindiescene since their breakthrough to the mainstream in 2005 and regard becoming the first band to open the Leeds Arena as an honour being natives of the region.
It is going to be a busy 2013 for Kaiser Chiefs, with a full UK tour planned for February before heading off to South America and supporting Green Day at their Emirates Stadium in London show in June.
The band also confirmed they will be playing a one-off show at York Racecourse on July 26th 2013.
Tickets for both of these gigs go on sale on November 30th at 9am.
