Justin Timberlake to play Casablancas Records mogul
The popstar, who is fast becoming one of Hollywood's hottest acting properties with critically-acclaimed performances in films like The Social Network and Friend's With Benefits, is helping produce the film, which charts the life of Bogart.
Spinning Gold, which is being written and recorded by Bogart's son Timothy Scott Bogart, charts the rags-to-riches story of the Casablancas Records mogul.
It will tell of Bogart's early life of poverty in Brooklyn to the dizzying heights of fame, as well as the influence he had on music in the seventies.
After all, he helped shape the careers of Kiss, the Village People and Donna Summers to name but a few.
Timothy said: "From the moment we met Justin, we knew we’d found our Neil Bogart.
"With Justin also a producer on the movie, together we’re crafting this saga about a young dreamer who started with nothing and came of age in the 60s and 70s, believing anything was possible and every risk was worth taking."
