Julian Casablancas's weird songs
Julian Casablancas wants to make "weird" music.
The Strokes frontman enjoyed the experience of making his recent poppy solo album 'Phrazes For The Young' but wants his next record - either with or without the group - to take a more unusual direction.
He said: "It's definitely a place I would like to go, musically," he said. "Not electronic... you can do weird with guitars too. This record was kind of something I needed to get out of my system, almost."
The 'Juicebox' singer also admitted he finds it difficult to write new tracks while on the road.
He explained to NME Radio: "It's a real bummer. The touring I don't mind, I don't mind the travelling, it's great, I'll take it. Somehow there's this weird energy you need when you work on music... it always makes you want to pick up a guitar. It's a slight edge you just lose when you pick up the remote control on tour in a hotel room."Posted on 23 Dec 2009 07:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
