Jon Bon Jovi opens homeless shelter in US
Jon Bon Jovi, famous for his impressive vocals and electric guitar skills, has announced the opening of a homeless shelter in the US.
Earlier this week (April 19th), the frontman of the American rock band Bon Jovi gave money to the Covenant House facility in Philadelphia.
His Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation helped raise the money, which will go towards housing 20 former homeless people between the ages of 18 and 21.
Covenant House International president Kevin Ryan emphasised the value of such premises, saying failing to help young people in need "denies all of us their talents and visions".
With Jon Bon Jovi as a sponsor to the facility, youngsters could even get inspiration to work on their electric or bass guitar skills.
But he is set to be busy over the next few months, as he and his band mates have announced they will be headlining the Hard Rock Calling festival on June 24th 2011.
It is being held in London's Hyde Park and the likes of Rod Stewart will be playing the following day (June 25th).
