Johnny Marr to be reunited with Gibson guitar
The guitar was taken after the ex-Smiths star played a gig in London and he was so upset about its disappearance that he offered a reward for its return. Marr now looks set to get his wish to be reunited with the Gibson, reports the Enfield Independent.
Police discovered the guitar in a house in Enfield on January 31st 2010 and as a result, charged Stephen White with theft. He subsequently pleaded guilty in front of magistrates and is now awaiting sentencing.
The Gibsonguitar will now be returned to Marr - an outcome which has pleased local police officers. PC Christopher Swain said: "I have been delighted to think I can return this treasured item to its original owner who thought they would never see it again."
Marr is a renowned guitar collector and recently told the Mail on Sunday that his favourite instruments are a Les Paul he used when writing Meat is Murder and a Fender Jaguar which used to belong to Modest Mouse singer Isaac Brock.Posted on 16 Feb 2010 11:29 to category : Instruments News
