John Paul Jones and Seasick Steve jam at Isle of Wight Festival rocks
John Paul Jones, the bass player out of Led Zeppelin, gave the Isle of Wight Festival crowd the surprise of their lives when he joined bluesman Seasick Steve on stage for a performance.
Seasick Steve, who is known for his range of self-designed electric guitars, is good friends with Jones, whom he had play on his latest album You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks.
The performance went down a storm with Seasick Steve performing in his typically animated way.
Beyond the elder statesmen of rock, the Isle of Wight Festival saw the Foo Fighters wrap up the event with a characteristically enthusiastic performance that sent the crowd wild.
With drum solos, long riffs on the electric guitar and a set of songs to please everyone, the Foo Fighters showed that guitar-based rock music still had plenty of life in it.
Meanwhile, Pulp, who recently reformed as a group, reminded the fans why they were so popular in their days: geeky, smart, and understated British pop music at its best.
75,000 braved the heavy rain to attend the festival, which marked the first time Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye had performed at a festival.
