John Lennon fever continues with another auction
John Lennon continues to exert an influence over popular culture with another auction selling items from his past.
A cowboy hat and a pair of sunglasses worn by the Beatles legend in the mid-60s are to go up for sale.
Lennon, whose enduring song Imagine saw him sat at a now iconic piano that was also auctioned off, wore the cowboy hat and black Italian sunglasses during the Fab Four's North American tour in 1965.
The items are currently the property of Larry Warren, an American living in Liverpool who was a friend of Lennon's uncle.
Mr Warren told reporters: "I knew Charlie Lennon well and I bought these items from him. He didn't want to take any money for them but I insisted.
"I have helped conserve other items concerned with The Beatles, including parts of the church hall where Lennon first met Paul McCartney."
The items are expected to fetch a total of £12,000 at the auction in Berkshire next week, with the hat expected to go for £8,000.
Gerardo Weiss, a barber in Argentina, has been attracting publicity as he has established a name for himself as a specialist in styling "Beatles inspired haircuts".
