John Fogerty abandons one-man band approach
Posted on 19 Oct 2009 13:45 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Electric guitar player John Fogerty revealed why he chose not to play all the musical instruments on his latest album.
The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman recorded a country, blues and gospel covers album called The Blue Ridge Rangers following the band's split in the early 1970s.
Fogerty took the idea of becoming a solo artist to the limit, playing all the instruments including the drum kit, electric guitar, fiddle and banjo.
He has revisited the theme of returning to his roots with a new collection called The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again, although this features him working with various other musicians.
"I knew I would not do it as a one-man band the next time around," Fogerty told USA Today.
He described his chosen method of recording the earlier album as a "psychological reaction" to trouble he was having with his record company at the time.
Among the musicians on the new album is Fender Telecaster player Bruce Springsteen, who appears on a version of The Everly Brothers' classic When Will I Be Loved.
