Jimmy Page praises Led Zep drummer
Posted on 1 Jun 2010 15:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Jimmy Page has hailed his former Led Zeppelin bandmate John Bonham's skills behind the drum kit.
According to the electric guitar player, he first saw Bonham at a small club in London playing the drums with singer-songwriter Tim Rose.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Page said he knew straight away that he would like to get Bonham into his band.
"He was head and shoulders over everyone around him in his teens," Page commented.
"It's without doubt that his technique was beyond everybody else's."
This, he said, is why Bonham is considered a major influence today and treated with such "reverence".
Led Zeppelin broke up in 1980 following Bonham's death, although there have been occasional reunions in subsequent years.
The three surviving members of the band teamed up with Phil Collins in 1985 to play a short set at Live Aid.
Led Zeppelin also performed a one-off show at the O2 Arena in London three years ago, with John Bonham's son Jason on the drum kit.
