Jimmy Page gets his MOJO
Posted on 10 Jun 2010 22:30 to category : Music News

Jimmy Page and Jean Michel Jarre were both winners at the MOJO Honours List awards ceremony on Thursday night (10.05.10).
Electronic music pioneer Jarre - who is estimated to have sold 80 million combined singles and albums since his first release, 'Oxygene', in 1976 - collected the Lifetime Achievement prize at the music magazine's annual event which was held at The Brewery in London.
Ceremony host and the publication's editor Phil Alexander said of Jarre's career: "He is up there with Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream as one of the real pioneers of electronic music. The difference is that he has done things on an epic scale."
Led Zeppelin guitarist Page picked up The MOJO Hall Of Fame accolade, while Duane Eddy scooped The MOJO Icon Award.
Newcomers The Low Anthem picked up The MOJO Breakthrough Act gong and exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "For us it's such an honour to be associated with MOJO. I don't think any band looks to an award for validation but it's a way of us being recognised and us recognising the magazine - it gives us strength to move forward."
Kasabian claimed the MOJO Song of the Year gong for their track 'Fire', while Teardrop Explodes were the recipients of The MOJO Inspiration Award.
