Jimmy Page criticises Guitar Hero
The rock legend, who achieved fame playing electric guitar in Led Zeppelin, said he does not think the games teach people anything of value.
He commented: "You think of the drum part that John Bonham did on Good Times Bad Times.
"How many drummers in the world can play that part, let alone on Christmas morning?"
Page's comments were echoed by Jack White, his co-star in forthcoming documentary film It Might Get Loud.
The White Stripes' electric guitarist said it is "depressing" to have a record label tell him that youngsters are now learning about music through video games.
Although acts such as The Beatles have recently allowed their songs to be used in an upcoming computer game, Led Zeppelin have been extremely reluctant to licence their music in this way.
However, a number of their tracks have been heard in movies such as School of Rock, Almost Famous and Small Soldiers.Posted on 23 Jun 2009 10:52 to category : Instruments News
