Legendary electric guitar player Jimi Hendrix has been granted a place in the Fender Hall of Fame.
An induction ceremony will take place next month (August 13th 2010) at the Tempe Center of the Arts in Arizona.
Guests at the event will include Janie Hendrix, the guitar player's stepsister, and Eddie Kramer, the man who produced seminal Hendrix albums such as Are You Experienced.
The Fender Hall of Fame was established in 2007 and previous inductees include The Beach Boys and Don Johnston.
Last month, a Fender guitar played by Hendrix was sold at auction for $180,000 (£119,500).
Other items up for grabs at the sale - which was held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas - included a lock of Elvis Presley's hair and Prince's handwritten lyrics for Purple Rain, reported BBC News.
The item to be sold for the highest bid was a crystal studded glove worn by Michael Jackson, which went for $190,000.
