Jimi Hendrix Rock Band game 'to be released by end of 2010'
A version of the Rock Band game series based on the music of electric guitar player Jimi Hendrix is to be released by the end of the year, it has been suggested.
According to his stepsister Janie Hendrix, who is in charge of his estate, the game is a result of the licensing agreement for his master recordings signed with Sony Music last year.
She let slip the plans during an interview with the LA Times earlier this week.
"Sony vowed to make his music 'available through every type of media' - including a new edition of Rock Band that Janie Hendrix says should appear before the end of this year," said the newspaper.
MTV Games and Harmonix, the companies behind Rock Band, have so far refused to confirm whether the electric guitar player will join a roster of other acts that have featured on the game, which includes The Beatles and Otis Redding.
Last year, Time magazine named Hendrix as the greatest electric guitar player of all time.Posted on 18 Feb 2010 09:50 to category : Band / Celebrity News
