Jessie J album to help those confused by sexuality
Jessie J hopes her album will help people to accept their sexuality.
The openly bisexual singer says love is "about the person, not the genitals" and hopes her record 'Who You Are' can help people who are struggling with issues of their sexuality to be comfortable with themselves.
She explained: "I've been with guys and I've been with girls. And I kind of think it's about the person not the genitals. A lot of people are like, 'Oh, she doesn't know what she is.' But I definitely think my generation is more easygoing about it.
"I mean, I think it's harder for boys to be bisexual. I think if a girl's bi there's more acceptance, because guys like it. Whereas boys get more stereotyped. And girls are a bit like 'Oooh, my boyfriend's bisexual.' But it is what it is. That's the message I want my album to bring - to just be true to yourself."
Jessie gets inspiration for her music from her love life and says the song 'L.O.V.E' is about an ex who is "the only person I've been in love with".
She added to the Telegraph newspaper: "We're very close still and, you know, they're one of my best mates. They're very close to me still and if one day I feel like I've got more time. That's not the last song I'll write about that person."Posted on 12 May 2011 16:15 to category : Band / Celebrity News
