Jeff Beck wows crowds with electric guitar skills
Jeff Beck has proved his electric guitar abilities are as good as ever, when he performed at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, US.
The musician took to the stage on Saturday night (April 16th), which was the first time he has been in the area for more than ten years, the Kansas City Star reports.
He is said to have made the performance seem effortless, with the article noting he played the melody of Over the Rainbow "barely moving his left hand on the neck of the guitar".
"Like a master illusionist, although Beck's arsenal was on full display, it was impossible to figure out his tricks," the reviewer remarks.
Tracks from an array of artists were covered during the event, with Jeff Buckley, Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix among the acts whose songs Beck chose to perform.
Rolling Stone dubs Beck "one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock", although it notes he has sometimes been held back by the fact he does not sing.
