Jeff Beck to honour Les Paul at two special gigs
Posted on 10 May 2010 09:51 to category : Music News

Jeff Beck is to honour the life and work of electric guitar innovator Les Paul with two special shows next month.
Beck is to take to the stage of the Iridium Jazz Club in New York on June 8th and 9th 2010, with support coming from The Imelda May Band.
The performances, which have been entitled A Celebration of Les Paul, will feature a mixture of rockabilly classics and Paul covers, reports Gibson's website.
Beck has praised Les Paul as one of his inspirations for how he plays the guitar.
"When I first heard Les Paul playing How High the Moon, I thought, man, that's what I want my sound to be like," he said.
"Now, here I am years later and he's still a powerful influence in all that I do."
Last month, Brian Fallon, the frontman of US rock band The Gaslight Anthem, said that the group only take Gibson Les Paulguitars on tour with them.
He stated that the versatility of the musical instruments mean that they can produce any sound the band need when playing live.
