Jarvis Cocker nervous about Pulp comeback
Jarvis Cocker has revealed that he is nervous about Pulp's comeback performance ahead of their first gig in nine years this weekend at Spain's Primavera Festival.
The singer and keyboard player, who has reinvented himself as a popular radio presenter, told Steve Lamacq that this has caused him to have "anxiety dreams" such as wandering through a festival, looking at his watch, and realising he should have been on stage ten minutes ago.
The band got back together last November after a nine year break. Mark Webber, the band's guitar player, recently explained that it was a friend's death that had spurred them all to "grasp" this rare "opportunity".
Speaking on BBC 6 Music, Cocker said: "I think that had a lot to do with it. You suddenly realise you can't take things for granted."
The band, whose anthem Common People catapulted them to stardom, will be touring the summer festivals this year and will perform at T in the Park, Isle of Wight and Wireless.
Jarvis Cocker will be hosting Electronica lll, the BBC's Concert Orchestra's groundbreaking "exploration of electric instruments" in June.
