Japanese charity efforts 'to be aided by Wembley Arena supergig'
A host of top acts are set to take their musical instruments to Wembley Arena next month to show their support for victims of the recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
According to the Sun, talks are currently taking place about putting on a special show at the London venue between Sony, Universal and concert promoters Live Nation.
Plans are in place for the show to be broadcast live on the BBC, while it will also be screened on NBC in America.
An inside source said: "No names have been confirmed yet but the organisers are expecting a massive response from acts of all eras.
"They're hoping the TV audience numbers will break records."
One gig that has already been officially announced in aid of the Japanese Red Cross Tsunami Appeal is to take place at Brixton Academy on April 3rd.
Those booked to perform at the show include electric guitar player Paul Weller, Liam Gallagher's new band Beady Eye, ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and indie stars The Coral.
Tickets for the event went on sale last Friday (March 25th), with purchasers limited to a maximum of four per person, BBC Newsbeat reported.
