James Toseland to receive special Yamaha RGX A2 guitar
Toseland is to be handed a version of the musical instrument that has been given a custom finish by race paint specialist Altamura Concepts in the livery of one of his bikes.
Just five versions of the Yamaha RGX A2 electric guitar have been produced in this manner, with three due to be given away to charity events.
The last of the electric guitars, which has been signed by Toseland, is up for grabs in a competition run by the Yamaha website, in which entrants will be asked to respond to a multiple choice question about the rider's career, as well as filling in a short questionnaire.
A spokesman for the instrument manufacturer said: "The Yamaha RGX A2 ... boasts an ultra-light AIR [Alternative Internal Resonance] construction which uses a series of air-tubes running through the body, helping to produce a huge tone, ideal for rock music."
Toseland, who has won the Superbike World Championship on two occasions, has recently been signed up to race for the BMW Motorrad Italia team for the 2011 season.
