James McIlroy Returns to Cradle of Filth For New Album
Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa not only marks Cradle Of Filth's ninth studio album, sixteen years since the release of their debut album, sees the return of guitarist James McIlroy.
Nicknamed 'The Wookie', James was previously in the band for 3 years but left in 2005 to undertake new projects, he rejoined in time for the writing of the bands latest opus.
When James returned to the Cradle fold in 2009 he realised he needed a guitar amp with the drive and range to not only project the new songs he was writing, but to faithfully reproduce the old classics too.
This led James back to the 6505 from Peavey, "a true classic, it's got balls, raging aggression and just oozes metal, no matter what else I try, I keep coming back to this amp as the foundation of my sound."
Originally designed as a stack, the Peavey 6505 is now available in a 1x12" combo form as well as a separate amp head and cab.
The album will be released on the 1st of November in Europe and is already receiving fantastic reviews. Meanwhile James is preparing his 6505's to hit the road in the New Year for a tour supporting the new release.
The live shows won't disappoint, with the usual theatrics that we have come to expect from COF and the renowned tone of his Peavey amp.Posted on 22 Oct 2010 10:39 to category : Band / Celebrity News
