Electric guitar player Jack White has revealed the key to The Dead Weather's prolific output sharing songwriting duties.
The supergroup, which is comprised of The White Stripes star, The Kills singer Alison Mosshart, bass guitar player Jack Lawrence from The Raconteurs and Dean Fertita from Queens of the Stone Age, only released their debut album last July but the new album is already close to being finished.
White told Triple J: "It's quite collaborative and everybody is very inspired.
"I would have thought Dean on guitar wouldn't have been writing much when we got together, but he's written half of the first album and half the new record."
White is behind the drum kit in his new group and stated that he was enjoying getting a close view of Mosshart's "ferocious" live performances, reports BBC 6 Music.
Last month, White told Rolling Stone that he was considering playing every instrument on his planned solo album.
