Jack White: New album is all about me
Blunderbuss is the singer-songwriter's first legitimate creative effort as a solo musician, which he explained as being a record that could only have been created by him alone.
"I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name," he said.
"These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colours on my own canvas."
White is most famous for being in alternative rock band The White Stripes along with Meg White.
In an interview with Zane Lowe, the musician explained that the album came about when a session with a musician fell through.
"A few months ago, we had a session booked and someone didn't show up, so I said, 'I guess we'll do some of my songs'... It kick started the whole process," White stated.
Meanwhile, the White Stripes classic tune Seven Nation Army has been covered by X Factor loser Marcus Collins, who has given the tune a jazzy feel.
