JLS hit back at critics of auto-tune
JLS have defended the use of the music software auto-tune saying that it's part of the music industry.
The band, who shot to fame when they finished as runners-up on the hit TV talent show X-Factor, revealed that they occasionally use auto-tune to enhance their recorded vocals.
Speaking to Bang Showbiz, the band said that as accomplished singers who would always perform auto-tuned tracks live, there was no problem.
Ashton Merrygold, one of the boyband's members, told the online news provider: "If you get critics come and see the show, we can sing it live, so what's the problem? It's kind of pointless for them to criticise."
They argued that music had changed and that they were part of a generation that used auto-tune and sampling in the creative process of making good pop music.
The band recently premiered their long-awaited new single She Make Me Wanna, which was shot in Miami.
It features Dev, a rising popstar who herself was sampled in the Far East Movement hit song Like a G6.
She can currently be seen in the charts with her first official single, Bass Down Low.
