JBL Professional Announce New Competition For Singer Songwriters
Not only an excuse to showcase your talents to the musical community, the winner will be benefited with an astounding platform to have their music produced by one of the industries finest. The competition will be open to residents of the UK over the age of 18 and will be aimed at those musicians who are not already signed or otherwise associated with record labels. Those who enter will be expected to perform an original song that lasts no longer than three minutes and consists of only a single instrument and vocal track.
To enter the competition simply register/upload your song, taking the time to ensure that it fulfills all of the relevant criteria. After uploading your track, it will be loaded onto the 'contest wall' and then to your individual profile for others to observe, share and vote.
The top 40 entries will be awarded with a AKG P5i microphone and then catapulted into the live phase of the competition. During this live phase, the entrant will visit a local retailer of their choice and record their song live in "ONE TAKE" via the EON one recording pod. Each of these performances will be filmed and subsequently uploaded to the website to be suitably scrutinized by a panel of industry professionals including Steve Levine and Editor Of Songwriting magazine Russel Deeks.
Following this, the live entrants will be whittled down to 10 runners-up and one grand winner. Each of the runners up will receive a pair of AKG 702 headphones in recognition of their talent and dedication. The grand winner will then be granted the opportunity to spend a day recording at London's renowned Strongroom Studios, a professional recording facility which has previously hosted the likes of Radiohead, Bjork, ALT-J and London Grammar.
The competition will be taking place from the 8th of May 2017 and will close on the 19th of June 2017.
