Iron and Wine announce two London gigs

Great deals on musical instruments

Iron and Wine have announced that they will be playing two very special gigs in London in October.

The first show will see a typical acoustic performance from the folk outfit, followed by a second show with a full band with an array of folk musical instruments on offer.

Originally a one-man band led by guitar and banjo player Sam Beam, Iron and Wine has grown into a "proper" band of sorts, but with Beam still very much the principal musical force behind the project.

Fans of Iron and Wine will also be able to see the band at some of the UK summer festivals, including headlining the Green Man Festival in Wales and appearing at the Latitude Festival in Suffolk.

The band will be playing music from their latest album Kiss Each Other Clean, which was released at the beginning of the year.

Sam Beam, who is originally from South Carolina, used to be a film studies lecturer. Also a capable painter, his experience of the visual arts is said to underpin a lot of his music and the way in which he tells a story.

He was brought to mainstream attention after one of his tracks appeared in the popular vampire film Twilight.
