Iron Maiden star flies Liverpool squad to Italy
Posted on 21st Oct 2010 14:09 to category Band / Celebrity News
Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer in electric guitar band Iron Maiden, has flown the Liverpool football team to Italy.
The heavy metal legend has a commercial pilot's licence and he captained the Astraeus Airlines plane flying the team out from Liverpool John Lennon Airport yesterday, reports BBC News.
Liverpool made the journey to play a game against Napoli in the Europa League.
Dickinson said that he isn't sure whether he enjoys flying or singing more but has pledged never to give up on his musical career.
He has previously combined his two loves, when Iron Maiden flew around the world on tour with all their crew and musical instruments on board.
"It's like the biggest tour bus in the world," he said.
The electric guitar band have already announced some of their tour dates for next year, with shows in Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland all on the itinerary for 2011.
