Iggy Pop praises Stooges guitar player James Williamson
Iggy Pop has said Stooges electric guitar player James Williamson is in creative mood following the reformation of the punk rocker with his group.
Speaking to Billboard, the rock star stated that Iggy and The Stooges are planning to work on touring and recording together for the next three years following the re-release of 1973 album Raw Power.
Iggy said that electric guitar player Williamson is currently bursting with new ideas for songs.
"[He] is already on me like a greased cat," the star said. "He's sending me riffs, so I did some vocals to a couple of them and it's starting to sound like something."
Iggy added that it was important to him on an intellectual level that the band should be releasing new material as part of their agreement to reform.
The band's hits from down the years include I Wanna Be Your Dog, Search and Destroy and Gimme Danger.
