Iconic Jimi Hendrix guitar to be auctioned
The black FenderStratocasterwas used by Hendrix at the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967 before it was replaced by an axe that he then smashed up and set on fire in one of the most memorable performances of his career.
Hendrix's guitar will be put up for bids at the Playboy Club in Park Lane, London, alongside other famous musical items including an original demo tape from The Beatles which is expected to fetch around£30,000.
The iconic FenderStratis expected to command a fee of around£125,000 at the sale, giving one lucky music fanatic one of the most sought-after items in the industry and allowing the memory of this guitar legend to live on.
Hendrix was an icon of the1960swowing crowds around the world with his wizardry on the guitar, writing such classic track such as Voodoo Child, Foxy Lady and Purple Haze.
He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
