Ian McCulloch sees bright future for ex Oasis member Noel Gallagher
Posted on 18th Sep 2009 10:52 to category Band / Celebrity News
Electric guitar player Noel Gallagher has good prospects following his split with Oasis, a fellow pop star has said.
Echo and the Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch commented on the Manchester band's recent splintering, stating that Noel has a promising future despite leaving the group he founded.
"Noel is a good songwriter and he'll be OK. He's got projects," he told NME.
However, he speculated that the Epiphone guitar player had been forced out of the band, leading to his announcement that he quit following an altercation backstage at a music festival in Paris last month.
McCulloch said he thought he had been "bullied from all those behind the group", but said while Oasis's future does not seem as clear, Noel's talents will propel him forward.
Despite the split, Oasis are in the running to receive the world's best pop act accolade at the upcoming Q Awards.
Meanwhile, Echo and the Bunnymen are set to release their new album Fountains on October 12th.
