I feel 18 when I play electric guitar, says Mick Green
Mick Green has revealed that he feels like a teenager when he plays electric guitar, despite being of pensionable age.
The rock legend, who first rose to prominence in Johnny Kidd and The Pirates, reached the age of 65 earlier this year.
Green, who later became guitarist with Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, still performs with The Pirates today and has also worked with the likes of Van Morrison, Bryan Ferry and Sir Paul McCartney.
Speaking to the Guardian, he said he believes playing rock 'n' roll well into his 60s is helping to keep him young.
"When I look in the mirror I see an old bloke, but when I strap on a guitar, I feel 18 again," he commented.
"Music's in my blood," Green added.
The electric guitar player recently performed on Van Morrison's Keep It Simple album and also played in his band at the Glastonbury Festival in 2005.Posted on 10 Nov 2009 12:11 to category : Band / Celebrity News
