Guitarists aim to create biggest ever pedalboard
Posted on 25th Jun 2009 13:40 to category Music News
Electric guitar players in the US are hoping to outdo themselves by creating the biggest pedalboard on record.
However, the websites want to push the envelope further this time round by getting them to use even more guitar effects pedals.
Aljon Go, organiser of the event, commented: "I wanted to push the technology as far as it could go and see how insane it can get.
"This extraordinary pedalboard is far from practical, but every pedal is operational."
He added that the record breaking attempt, which "started out as a laugh", has evolved into a celebration of the advances in guitar technology.
Proceeds from the event, which will take place on July 16th, will go to a local charity organisation.
This comes after music fans at the Download festival successfully set a record for the largest number of people playing the air guitar at the same time, with more than 400 people thrashing out the chords to Motorhead's 1980 hit Ace of Spades.
