Guitar legend Slash planning 'heavy Velvet Revolver album'
Electric guitar legend Slash has promised that Velvet Revolver's next album will be heavier than their previous records.
The rock band are currently without a singer following the departure of Scott Weiland, but the remaining members are planning to carry on with a new frontman in place.
Slash, who plays a Gibson Les Paul, admitted that he had been frustrated by the group's musical direction when Weiland was their singer, as he believes they got "progressively lighter".
He promised that the next Velvet Revolver album would be much heavier and confirmed that several songs have already been written.
"It's a lot heavier than what Velvet Revolver has put out," he told MTV.
"I'm dying to put out the quintessential Velvet Revolver record."
During the band's hiatus, Slash has recorded and released a solo album, which features big names such as Flea, Fergie, Iggy Pop and Dave Grohl.
The Stoke-born guitar player first made his name in Guns N' Roses, which notched up hits such as Paradise City and Sweet Child O' Mine.Posted on 2 Jun 2010 11:34 to category : Band / Celebrity News
