Guitar band Bombay Bicycle Club nominated in Ivor Novello Awards
Guitar band Bombay Bicycle Club have been nominated for prestigious accolades at this year's Ivor Novello Awards.
The London-based indie rockers are hoping to emerge victorious in the Best Album category for their recent record Flaws.
However, the group face stiff competition from BRIT award-winning act Plan B and his album The Defamation of Strickland Banks, as well as Manchester-based electric guitar band Everything Everything, who are nominated for their debut record Man Alive.
Elsewhere, Mercury Prize winners The xx, Tinie Tempah and Katy B will battle it out for Best Contemporary Song, while Kylie Minogue, Plan B and Scouting For Girls are all contending the PRS Award for Music Most Performed Work.
Lily Allen - who has since retired from the music industry to launch a fashion label - was the big winner at last year's ceremony, scooping the prizes for Songwriter of the Year, Best Song Musically and Lyrically and Most Performed Work for her track 'The Fear'.
