Graham Coxon: Fender Telecaster is versatile, simple and strong
Posted on 6 Jul 2010 16:10 to category : Instruments News

Blur's Graham Coxon has spoken about his history with the Fender Telecaster.
Talking to the Guardian in an article looking back on the 60 years that the electric guitar has been in production, Coxon explained that he used to draw Telecasters on a regular basis when he was in school – meaning he was delighted when he eventually got his hands on one.
"It's versatile, simple and strong," he said of the guitar.
"You can make it sound old-fashioned and warm, like something you'd have in a doo-wop band, or totally the other way: trebly and trashy."
Coxon added that his first Fender Telecaster - which he still owns - was a reissue of a 1959 model.
Earlier this month, drummer Dave Rowntree, one of Coxon's bandmates in Blur, told the Sun that the reformed indie group are thinking about recording together again, although the plans are only "vague" at the moment.
