Graham Coxon: A+E isn't about girls

Graham Coxon has announced his latest musical offering is a lot bleaker than previous records.
His new album is a lot darker
The multi-instrumentalist member of Blur has revealed that his own music is a lot darker than anything he has ever done before.

Graham Coxon, who rose to fame as the guitarist out of the Britpop band, told Q that his new record A+E is less to do with love, romance and women, themes which he has long explored.

"I suppose I've never gone so blatantly for a synthesiser and a drum machine before," he said, explaining what is unique about this album.

"This time I started to listen to the bleaker side of things more. There is a bit of a drought of romantic songs on this record, which is usually my default setting."

He added that he was proud of himself for not having any songs about love on A+E as it's always a challenge to get away from writing about the same topics.

It is believed that after Coxon has finished promoting this album, his focus will shift to producing new music with the rest of his bandmates.
