Goodfellas director Leona Lewis fan
Martin Scorsese listens to Leona Lewis' songs everyday because she gets his "blood pumping".
The Oscar-winning director approached the British songstress at the Golden Globe awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday (17.01.10) to tell her he is a huge fan of her hit track 'Bleeding Love' because it inspires his exercise regime.
A source said: "Leona couldn't believe it when Martin sought her out at the awards. He was charm personified and told her he listens to 'Bleeding Love' every single day when he goes out jogging.
"He said he thinks it's an utterly terrific track and really gets his blood pumping."
This will be welcome news for the 24-year-old singer as Leona recently admitted she wanted to try her hand at acting, like singer-and-actress Beyonce Knowles.
She said: "I might go into acting like she did - I'm not sure. If the right thing comes along, like a small part in a movie, I might."
Martin, 67, is a huge music fan and recently revealed his most famous movies are inspired by The Rolling Stones.
The filmmaker - who directed 'Shine a Light', a concert film about the British rockers' performances at New York City's Beacon Theater in 2006 - said: "The sound of their music, the chords, the vocals, the entire feel inspired me greatly and became a basis for most of the work I've done in my movies, going from 'Mean Streets' to 'Raging Bull', 'Goodfellas' and 'Casino'. The nature of the music is timeless, for me."Posted on 20 Jan 2010 10:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
