Goldfrapp star using Moogs for 'electronic opera'
A member of Goldfrapp has chosen to use Moog synthesizers for a trio of performances by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Will Gregory is working on creating an electronic opera with the classical music group by using advanced equipment, such as the Moog synthesizers, the Independent reports.
The artist is collaborating with members of the orchestra as part of a set of three concerts to celebrate the world of musical instruments.
Speaking with the newspaper, Gregory said the gig would combine the traditional sense of music with electronic sounds.
"Why have these instruments rarely made it into the orchestra? What happens when the two worlds come together?" he asked.
Music enthusiasts can hear the orchestra play with the Moog synthesizers on November 19th 2010 on Radio 3's Performance on 3 broadcast, while two more concerts will take place early next year.
Goldfrapp fans who want to listen to the band's modern take on music can attend their live shows taking place next month throughout Europe and the UK.
