Gloucestershire shop manager to go ape on the piano

Phil Gibbens is aiming to raise money for Comic Relief.
Great deals on musical instruments
A Gloucestershire shop manager is set to monkey around on the piano to help raise money for Comic Relief.

Phil Gibbens, who runs the Cheltenham branch of TK Maxx, will dress up as a monkey and play the piano for shoppers in the town's Regent Arcade to generate funds for the charity, the Gloucestershire Echo reports.

The store manager has already noted a number of hits that he will be performing, including a host of Elton John classics, Let It Be by The Beatles and the obligatory Daydream Believer by the Monkees.

He will be playing in the shopping centre between noon and 2pm every afternoon up until Red Nose Day which takes place on March 15th.

Mr Gibbens told the news provider: "I have been doing it for seven days and so far I have had a fantastic response. I have already smashed my original target of £700 and the total is currently at around £1,300."

Comic Relief allows people to get creative when looking to raise money for charity, and even prime minister David Cameron is getting involved by having a cameo appearance in a One Direction video.
