Glasvegas looking for new drummer as Caroline McKay quits
Caroline McKay, the woman behind the drum kit in indie band Glasvegas, has decided to leave the group, it has been announced.
James Allan, the lead singer in the Scottish group, revealed that it had been McKay's choice to quit and added that the rest of the band were disappointed about her decision.
"We are really sad that Caroline has decided to leave as she is one of the coolest drummers around," Allan said.
"But we respect her decision and say goodbye with all our love and luck."
Glasvegas are currently in Los Angeles, recording the follow-up record to their self-titled debut album, which was nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2009.
They were shortlisted for the prestigious award alongside the likes of Kasabian, La Roux and Florence and the Machine, but the honour went to surprise winner Speech Debelle.
McKay herself was named among the top ten coolest people in music by NME earlier this year.Posted on 31 Mar 2010 10:12 to category : Band / Celebrity News
