Electric guitar hero Bruce Springsteen wowed the Glastonbury crowds this year and music lovers appear to be keen to go back for more.

Tickets for 2010's event have sold out within 24 hours of being released, even though no announcement of which major acts will be performing has yet been made.

Festival-goers enjoyed an eclectic bill this year, including Springsteen, Tom Jones, Lily Allen, Blur, Glasvegas and Fender Telecaster-toting rockers Status Quo.

A statement on the official Glastonbury website read: "Thank you to all those who bought tickets.

"Confirmation emails are still in the process of being sent out."

The statement added that people who could not get their hands on tickets may be able to acquire a small number as soon as any failed transactions are cancelled.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis recently admitted that he will find it hard to top the 2009 event next year, following Springsteen's crowd-pleasing headline slot.
