Gibson release Les Paul Custom Lite guitar
The company said in a press release that it uses ingredients for the Lite that have demonstrated its durability and popularity since it first started crafting guitars in 1952. The famous pairing of a carved maple top and genuine mahogany body are still present in the new model.
The neck is quarter-sawn mahogany carved to a rounded 1950s style and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. The body and headstock are trimmed in multi-ply binding, and the headstock carries an Acrylic Gibson logo and traditional acrylic split-diamond inlay.
Covered in high-gloss Ebony Black, in genuine nitrocellulose lacquer, the depth of quality is apparent on more than just on the surface.
Gibson. which has customised its Les Paul for stars such as Keith Richards, Slash and Eric Clapton, has taken both its distinctive look and sound into the new model with its popular humbucking pickups but also added single-coil sounds.
The new Les Paul Custom Lite will be available at $2,498 (£1,670)
